Ever since I was ten I knew it was summer not because of how my hair shriveled up, but because local DJs break out the song every child in Long Beach should be required to know. "Summertime in the LBC" reminds me of being pushed off of diving boards into swimming pools by adults, and free county box lunches from the park - with those extra dry turkey sandwiches and one chocolate chip cookie you tried to convince your home girl she didn't want. Manwomanboogie is my favorite track off the latest Q-tip record so I'm geeked he finally released a video for it. The director, Rik Cordero, definitely redeemed himself with this joint considering his latest work. I'm glad to see dude's repertoire runs deeper than CGIs of Yasser Arafat. Cordero's vision for Manwomanboogie doesn't fit what I had in mind (the song always makes me want to do some Tae Bo type stunts on a dance floor - thankfully the video has none of that) but I likes.
