Proper Talks is part street, part university, young in mind, old in spirit and committed to figuring the rest of us out. We didn’t see an outlet for the types of things we discussed with our friends, so we decided to do our own thang (yes, we just said ‘thang’). We’re young, smart, multicultural and quite frankly tired of being put into so many different boxes. We’re not just black or white; we’re not just women or men; we’re not just 20-something. Granted, the people we kick it with might be a little scatter-brained, but in real life none of our conversations are as single-minded as many of the blogs and magazines out there pretend to be. We also have a love-hate relationship with the things that “urban” magazines assume that we live and breath for (big cars, nekked women, expensive t-shirts, bad music). We cover the politics, music, fashion, food and randomness that makes life interesting and we want to build a community of folks who like to talk about it all too. So jump right in with a comment or two and talk proper with us!
