Call me a perve, but I was too busy drooling at the above chest and abs to even think about who he’s dating. Essence put him on the cover because he’s looking damn good in that photo. I appreciate them for that. I wouldn’t have cared if he was dating a purple people eater, that boy looks good, lol.

But. It’s sad that Byron Crawford and others took a few angry women’s comments as an open door to bemoan black women as a race and blame Queen Latifah for black women thinking that they are special. That XXL blog post made me want to vomit. There was a lot of self-hate hidden in both his words and in the commenters’ responses.

There’s so many real things happening in life, it amazes me that people even find the time to care what the next man/woman is doing in the privacy of their own existence. It really is astounding.

As long as a mofo isn’t trying to rob me or hurt my family, have @ whatever makes you happy. Life is short. Folks have it confused.

I don’t understand how folks want to feel fully a part of a society, but keep up this “us” vs “them” bullshit. I don’t get that people feel that an Reggie dating Kim is worthy of outright expressions of hatred, but are all UP in arms when a judge denies a black man and white woman a marriage license.

PICK A DAMN SIDE and STFU. Seriously. If you want America to be post-racial, BE post-racial. Why does who some man you’ll never meet dating a woman who doesn’t look like him bother so many people?

I’ll never understand these folks. Never.
