Talkin’ about the stuff I hate talkin’ about.

Good lawd! How can anybody be MAD at THAT?
I didn’t want to talk about this Essence/Reggie Bush drama for two reasons.
#1: it’s bullshit.
But then I read this:
but when he gets on, he’ll leave your ass for a white girl…or not
at Very Smart Brothas and I HAD to share. It. Made. My. Day. Do yourself a favor and read it.
Now, #2: This aint scientific, but I KNOW Black men love Black women because my daddy married a Black woman, his Daddy married one and had some on the side, so did his Daddy’s daddy, and the majority of my uncles and cousins (or at least they play married).
If someone didn’t date a Black woman, my family didn’t say shit about it. The only thing we cared about was that my Aunty Lisa made the chicken enchiladas for the family potluck. That’s mad racist, but it’s true. In fact, I never had a conversation about my brother’s girl not being Black until this Reggie stuff went down. I’m so thankful I got a mama who met the girl on Thanksgiving, did the Kanye shrug (actually my mom was really nice), and kept it pushing.
With all that said, I hate talking about this stuff because I think it’s really heart-breaking. Other than the gays, Black men seem to be the only other humans on the planet that people think they have the authority to dictate who they can or can not love.

I don’t understand how folks want to feel fully a part of a society, but keep up this “us” vs “them” bullshit. I don’t get that people feel that an Reggie dating Kim is worthy of outright expressions of hatred, but are all UP in arms when a judge denies a black man and white woman a marriage license.
PICK A DAMN SIDE and STFU. Seriously. If you want America to be post-racial, BE post-racial. Why does who some man you’ll never meet dating a woman who doesn’t look like him bother so many people?
I’ll never understand these folks. Never.

There’s so many real things happening in life, it amazes me that people even find the time to care what the next man/woman is doing in the privacy of their own existence. It really is astounding.
As long as a mofo isn’t trying to rob me or hurt my family, have @ whatever makes you happy. Life is short. Folks have it confused.

Call me a perve, but I was too busy drooling at the above chest and abs to even think about who he’s dating. Essence put him on the cover because he’s looking damn good in that photo. I appreciate them for that. I wouldn’t have cared if he was dating a purple people eater, that boy looks good, lol.
But. It’s sad that Byron Crawford and others took a few angry women’s comments as an open door to bemoan black women as a race and blame Queen Latifah for black women thinking that they are special. That XXL blog post made me want to vomit. There was a lot of self-hate hidden in both his words and in the commenters’ responses.

@man w/a mustang…the funny thing about the internets is that when you leave a comment on someones blog you leave an ip address which means a quick google search can help me figure out EXACTLY who you are. I’m not going to put you on blast on here, but I’ll have my brother, the sellout, handle it. kanye shrug.
