Chris Rock yells entirely too much for my liking but I’ll look over his high-pitched fervor to give him props for calling foul on Roman Polanski’s supporters. It’s not like Rock will ever have to worry about Martin Scorsese casting him in a film, he can go after the likes of Scorsese and other Hollywood big shots placating Polanski (my girl crush on Penelope Cruz is officially kaput) without fear of being blacklisted (not the list that already excludes Black people in Hollywood, a new one).

Unlike Whoopi who was busy arguing over the technicalities of Polanski’s case and how it wasn’t “rape-rape,” Rock pretty much states the obvious: drugging and forcing another person to have sex against their will is rape, rape, and more rape. 

It’s not in this clip, but props to Jay Leno for prompting another comedic moment about white people and their dogs. Jay noted that Polanski has managed to dodge lengthy jail time for rape while Michael Vick served two years for killing a dog. Chris’ response — pit bulls aren’t real dogs and dogs have never been good to Black people. 

Soon as we got off the slave ship, dogs, right there. Segregation, dogs, right there. Apartheid, dogs. I got off the plane the other day from Jamaica, I had a little bit of weed in my bag…dog, right there!
