Hap-py Birth-day Toooo Ya!

The man who came up with the best birthday song ever turns 59 today. Did you know Stevie’s gov’ment name is actually Stevland? How can you not grow up to be somebody with a name like that?
Everybody and their moms, and their moms’ moms loves at least one Stevie Wonder song. I can’t seem to pick one so these are my top five in no particular order. What’s your favorite Stevie song?
1. If You Really Love Me
2. Ribbon in the Sky
3. Love’s In Need of Love Today
4. I Just Called to Say I Love You
5. That Girl
And because my all time favorite Stevie moment doesn’t exist on an album (thank God for You Tube!) here’s Stevie on The Cosby Show after the break. The clip is from the episode when Stevie’s driver plowed into Denise and Theo’s car and the two Huxtables were way too excited about it. Stevie invites the family to the studio as an apology and TV magic ensued. I always wished they would have let Cliff be in the studio a little longer in this episode but I guess he wanted his cast to have their own moment. They really look like they were having the time of their lives.

“Jam it on the 1.” That was one of my favorite Cosby scenes. That and the one with Denise’s “Jamaican” boyfriend singing on the couch.
