Draped Coffins
I thought I was ready to see images of the coffins of fallen soldiers returning home to America. Yet when a row of servicemen stood to salute the coffin of Sgt. Phillip Myers, who was killed on April 4 in Afghanistan, I realized that I might not ever be ready. Discomfort is a good thing. I hope more families welcome the media to photograph the priceless cost of war. Maybe then we’ll be moved to say, enough.
