Help Little Damon Interview Obama
Remember little Damon Weaver?
We’ve mentioned him here at Proper Talks before. He’s the cute 5th grader who has been vying for an inauguration interview with Barack Obama. Little Damon has already scored an adorable interview with Joe Biden, but it looks like not even a push from a Miami Heat all star, and the internets, will help him get the big gig. From HuffPo:
I just received an email from the Senate Gallery that said they will not be able to give my students and I press credentials for the inauguration ceremony … An aide from Congressman Alcee Hastings office has been in contact with the Presidential Inaugural Committee’s press office. They told him they will not be able to give us press credentials for any of Presidential Inaugural Committee events. I also contacted Barack Obama’s Transition Team about our request to have Damon Weaver interview him. They told me the interview will probably not happen. [Brian Zimmerman, Damon's teacher]
Come on now B-Rocka, help the little man out! I’m really afraid of what may happen to Little Damon’s dreams if the O-Team doesn’t grant this kid an interview. Have you seen the look on a child’s face when they get a PS3 for Christmas instead of a Wii? Little Damon’s rejection will probably be ten times worse than that. Granted, bigger media will be denied press passes that week, but surely Obama can be late to one ball and spend five minutes with the future!
There’s a way we can help little Damon. Jason Linkins over at Huffpo is starting a campaign to get little Damon his interview, and I’m joining him! Seriously y’all, email the Presidential Inaugural Committee, Senate Gallery Officials, and the Obama Transition Team, and tell them to be nice to little Damon. This could mean the difference between the next Ed Bradley or Plaxico Burress. Nuff said?
