Speaking of the Shoe Chucker who is owning this slow news week, reports say that he’s been beaten in custody:

Muntadar al-Zaidi has allegedly suffered a broken arm, broken ribs and internal bleeding, his older brother, Dargham, told the BBC.

…A spokesperson for the Iraqi military says the journalist is in good health and said the allegations were untrue.

It is unclear whether the reporter may have been injured when he was wrestled to the floor at the news conference, or at a later point. [BBC News]

He threw shoes at the dude who basically took a dump on the Geneva Convention at the bgeinning of the Iraq war. I’d be more suprised if al-Zaidi didn’t catch a beat down. But! If he survives imprisonment and somehow gets his shoes back he’ll be able to sell them for a lot. Let’s pray for a happy ending.
