Dejavu, Kanye-style
Just something I found that was kinda interesting. Kanye West, the man who has championed more samples than Costco on a Saturday afternoon, dukes it out with the souls of yester-year who have been immortalized (for better or for worse) by his use. I respect the breadth in selection, but what exactly has ‘Ye originally composed? I’ll wait…
[Angela Update: Damn Rodd, so does this mean you don't remember you and me, Spring 04 at the House of Blues, sweatin it out to College Dropout live? ;-p ]

“808″ broke my heart. would’ve been a great mixtape, but at it’s best it’s a weak r&b record.

i think the problem lies in the classification.I would call it a hip hop-influenced pop album, and as such it was great. That’s what he said he intended to make, straight-up pop, but i think people want it to be other things and it really cant live up to that.

Lots of current and pertinent content. Love the piece on Kanye, wow, sampler of the year!
Don’t think the swear words strengthen your message. Great work though!
