ATL Rappers Stump For Senate Run-Off

I often occaisionally have harsh words for hip hop artists who talk the talk but don’t walk the walk. But I can’t hate on the above picture of Ludacris and Jeezy at Jim Martin’s rally last night to get out the black vote in Georgia’s senate run-off election today. If Martin wins the seat Obama will basically be trump tight [holler at my auntie's spades lingo] when it comes to pushing through legislation. It’s especially admirable that these guys (TI was there too) came out to suport considering that the odds aren’t in Martin’s favor to win and the Alaskan governor I hate writing about was going hard in the paint for Republican incumbent Saxby Chambliss.
“We need a senator who’ll work with Obama to fix the economy,” Ludacris said, adding that Chambliss’ “firewall” stump speech “lets me know he’s all about politics and not helping America.”
Then came Jeezy: “We won the battle, it’s time to win the war,” he said, urging the crowd to vote for Martin.
And East Point native T.I.: “Jim Martin, we got your back. You don’t have to worry about young people. We got your back.” [Creative Loafing]
Now if Jeezy could only hurry up and release that “My President is Black” video he might be completely off my shit list for the moment.

I saw this on CNN this morning. I definitely commend these rappers for getting involved and not taking a back seat in the political process. Good stuff.
On another note, I am sick and tired of seeing/hearing about Sarah Palin. If I wanted to see her on the news everyday I would have voted for her. Go shoot some wolves from helicopters or something and stay out of the limelight!
