Malcolm X’s Daughter Responds to ‘House Negro’ Comment, Compares Al Qaeda Leader to Farrakhan
Well, actually she doesn’t tell us much about her thoughts on Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri using her father’s legacy to attack President-elect Barack Obama on Wednesday. But, when asked about her reaction to al-Zawahiri’s ‘House Negro’ comment, X’s youngest daughter, Malaak Shabazz, took the opportunity to take a shot at Louis Farrakhan, the national representative for the Nation of Islam. She told The Daily Beast:
I ignore him like I ignore Farrakhan. Next question. Next. There’s other issues we need to deal with. We need to focus energy on what is central to what we’re doing, not that negative shit.
In the past there has been a very public rift between the Shabazz family and Farrakhan over the death of Shabazz’s father. At one time, X’s wife, the late Dr. Betty Shabazz, publicly accused Farrakhan of having a role in her husband’s murder. However, the two reconciled before her death.
Malaak goes on to tell the Beast about her adoration for the Obamas and why they even remind her of her parents. For some reason I’m sure the Obama team is glad Malaak likened her parents to the Obamas now rather than during the campaign.

I could see the neoconservatives using Malaak’s statements to fuel the ridiculous ‘Obama is a Muslim’ frenzy that plagued the bigots and xenophobes throughout the country.
Check out this CNN video of a minister still claiming that Obama is a Muslim, as if that’s the worst thing a person can be. Don’t they know about this guy?
