Another Hip-Hop Funeral

VIBE December cover

VIBE December cover

It’s been years since I picked up VIBE Magazine and covers like their December issue is the reason why.  I honestly don’t think the collective forces at VIBE actually believe Plies is the future of hip-hop.  Mr. Bust It Baby? Is this their sly way of letting us know hip-hop is dying…again?

Sometimes I feel a little snobbish when I reject artists like Plies but when I here stuff like this, or this, I get excited about adding to my iTunes library and then kick my radio for supplying garbage.

It’s not all hate here though. Kudos to VIBE for mentioning Kid Cudi on the cover, even though XXL gets my vote for the Proper cover(s).

On another tip, I know times are rough but y’all really need to get that new Q-Tip. If you don’t have the funds add it to your life by any means necessary.  I won’t tell. Okayplayer has a nice review of it here.
